North American Hand Papermakers seeks officers to serve on our vibrant and creative board.


Nominations for 2022 have closed.

The Nominating Committee seeks nominations and self-nominations for individuals to volunteer to  serve in the following roles beginning in October 2022:

• President, 2 year term

• Vice President for Annual Meetings, 2 year term

• Vice President for Membership & Outreach, 2 year term

North American Hand Papermakers is an organization that brings together people interested in hand papermaking, to encourage sharing of practical, historical, and artistic knowledge about the craft. Board members play a crucial and exciting role in shaping the vision for the future of the field. All board member officers have their membership dues waived during the term of their service, and all board members have their annual conference fees waived.

Please send your or your nominee’s name and contact information, along with a short statement of interest (approx. 250 words) indicating the position/s of interest,  to: nominations@northamericanhandpapermakers.org

NAHP is committed to building bridges to reflect the many areas and cultures of hand papermaking interest and research. While we strive to connect as widely as possible, we are aware of ongoing work to be done. Please feel free to circulate this call throughout your networks, as we welcome nominations from outside our organization.

More about the officer positions:

President. The president runs monthly board meetings, represents the organization in public, and oversees organizational direction, initiates policy with the Board of Directors, and sets priorities for all business of the organization.

Vice President for Annual Meetings. The VP of Annual Meetings oversees and organizes all aspects of the Annual Meeting/Conference, including the conference itself, any pre- and post- conference activities, and collaborates with other officers to ensure a dynamic, engaging, and informative event. In the past, this position has been held by two individuals serving at Co-Vice Presidents for Annual Meetings.

Vice President for Membership & Outreach. The VP of Membership & Outreach oversees members and member correspondence, as well as membership incentives and initiatives. The VP seeks ways of reaching beyond the organizational membership to individuals such as teachers and community or academic institutions.
